How this track works
A bispecific antibody binds two targets at once. In immuno-oncology the aim is to release two brakes on the immune system together, such as PD-1 or PD-L1 with CTLA-4, to add an activating signal such as 4-1BB, or to block CD47, the "don't eat me" signal tumours use to escape macrophages. Putting two functions in one molecule can be simpler than giving two drugs, but the safety balance is harder to get right. PD-1/VEGF bispecifics and T-cell engagers have their own pages and are not listed here.
